1. What We Do

We provide electrical installation, repair, testing, inspection, and maintenance services carried out by qualified engineers. All work follows current UK electrical safety standards (BS 7671).

📝 2. Estimates & Bookings

  • Estimates are valid for 30 days.

  • A booking is confirmed when you accept the estimate or allow us to start work.

  • If we provisionally book a date, you must confirm within 48 hours. If we don’t hear from you, we may proceed with the scheduled date.

  • You can cancel a provisional booking up to 24 hours before the start time at no cost.

If unexpected issues arise (e.g., hidden faults), we will pause work, explain the situation, and provide a revised estimate.

🧰 3. Your Responsibilities

To help us work safely and efficiently, please:

  • Provide clear access to the work area, including parking and basic facilities.

  • Move furniture or obstructions before we arrive.

  • Tell us about any known hazards (e.g., asbestos, hidden pipes, structural issues).

  • Ensure the site is secure, especially on larger projects.

You are responsible for obtaining any required permissions (e.g., landlord or building control).

💳 4. Payments

  • Payment is due on the day the work is completed.

  • Larger projects may require deposits or staged payments (this will be shown on your quote).

  • If you have difficulty paying, contact us immediately so we can discuss a suitable payment plan.

  • If payment is not made and the work has been completed to industry standards, we will issue a final request for payment. Continued non‑payment may result in court action or referral to a debt recovery company.

Overdue invoices may incur interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate.

🛠️ 5. Customer‑Supplied Materials

We can install materials you provide, but:

  • They must meet UK safety standards.

  • We cannot offer any warranty on customer‑supplied items.

  • If they fail or cause delays, any extra work will be chargeable.

🛡️ 6. Warranties

What is a warranty?

A warranty is a promise that our workmanship and supplied parts will perform as expected for a set period.

When is the warranty valid?

The warranty applies when:

  • All work has been completed by Test Valley Electrical Services, and

  • The invoice is paid within 5 working days of completion.

How long does it last?

  • 12 months – Parts and Labour

  • 12 to 18 months – Labour only

  • After 18 months – Outside warranty unless agreed at our discretion

What can void the warranty?

  • Late invoice payment (beyond 5 working days)

  • Third‑party tampering

  • Damage caused directly or indirectly (e.g., fire, flood, other trades)

  • Customer‑supplied materials

What isn’t covered?

  • Fair wear and tear

  • Misuse or accidental damage

  • Pre‑existing faults unrelated to our work

  • Issues caused by other trades or poor site conditions

If a reported fault is unrelated to our work, investigation or repairs will be chargeable.

🧾 7. Certificates

Where required, we issue electrical certificates once:

  • The work is complete, and

  • The invoice has been fully paid.

🛑 8. Cancellations

  • Consumers have a 14‑day cooling‑off period unless work begins sooner with your consent.

  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before a scheduled start (and we are not at fault), deposits may be non‑refundable.

🔒 9. Liability & Insurance

  • We hold public liability insurance up to £2,000,000.

  • We are not responsible for indirect losses (e.g., loss of earnings).

  • We are not liable for damage caused by pre‑existing issues or hidden defects unless due to our negligence.

🔐 10. Data Protection

We handle your personal data in line with UK GDPR. We only use your information to manage your project and may share it with subcontractors or regulatory bodies when necessary.
